“The ascent of AI cannot be stopped. Healthy competition as well as greed for money and power will prevent people from reaching agreement on AI moratorium.”
This statement, stark and sobering, captures the essence of our current trajectory. Artificial intelligence is no longer a speculative frontier — it is a geopolitical, economic, and existential force accelerating beyond consensus, regulation, or restraint.
Some would be intelligent decisions eventually might turn out to be not so intelligent. In evolution of human society, the ones that could do something better than others were always more successful. It can also be said that more successful ones normally dominate less successful. If we follow this simple logic, we come to a vision of AI who is better than us at anything, will inevitably start to dominate us in the nearest future. How precisely this domination will look like it is not yet clear.
